Hi, I am Jennifer

I help people manage the change (and chaos) of life without losing themselves

I am an Ivy League-trained psychotherapist, but I am also a woman, wife, and mother.  Over the course of my life I have moved across the country, lived abroad, changed careers, experienced tragic loss, and struggled to balance motherhood.

along the way i have learned:

  • You can come out stronger from even the most difficult challenges

  • Change is a constant in life

  • Worrying does not work

  • You cannot change the past

  • Focus on moments that bring you joy

  • We need people who understand us to support us on our journey

the truth is we all struggle sometimes

It is difficult to balance our care for others with care for ourselves in an ever-changing world.  I believe in the value of connecting deeply, speaking honestly, and seeking support.

I am here to help you feel better no matter your circumstances

I have been through it, studied it, and have made sure I can help you get through it too.
I will bring the best of my experience and education to our work.  If you are ready to feel more stable, balanced, and at ease, I encourage you to explore ways to work with me.

Professional Qualifications

After receiving my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University, I completed a postgraduate clinical program in family and couples therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family.  I have additional training with Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Psychodynamic and Interpersonal Therapies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.

My clinical experience includes working at the Weill Cornell Medical Center Psychiatric Emergency Receiving Center and Employee Assistance Program Consortium, the NYU Hospital for Joint Disease Traumatic Brain Injury Unit, and a private group practice specializing in DBT.  I have experience in multiple clinical settings and various mental health clinics. I am now the Founder & Director of a group therapy practice.

I am a certified Meditation and Mindfulness Instructor and Mindfulness in the Workplace Instructor from the Mclean Meditation Institute. In my first career I was a Sales and Fashion Executive in NYC. In the Fashion Industry, I generated and oversaw a 10-million-dollar business in addition to managing my team. My previous business and corporate background, meditation and mindfulness trainings, and therapy experience make me a valuable asset to bring mindfulness and meditation to professional environments and organizations.

I teach individual and group meditation classes, lead therapeutic retreats, corporate wellness events, and am a motivational speaker.

In 2019, I was interviewed on CBS-WLNY’s The Donna Drake Show, featured in Roslyn News and honored by the Long Island Press as a Power Woman in Business and by Long Island Business News as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Business. I am currently acting Mentorship Chair on New York State Society for Clinical Social Work's (NYSSCSW) Board for the Long Island Chapter. In September 2020, I was honored to be selected as a keynote speaker at Ellevate's Raise Her Voice event. Recently, I have been acknowledged with a nomination for 2020-2021 Best Psychotherapist for Bethpage's Best of Long Island. Thank you as always for your incredible support!
